1212 WHEREAS, the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) stands as a beacon of3
1313 excellence in technical education, contributing significantly to workforce development and4
1414 economic growth in our state; and5
1515 WHEREAS, the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL) program annually6
1616 recognizes outstanding technical college students across the state, celebrating their academic7
1717 achievements, leadership, and service to their communities; and8
1818 WHEREAS, Nicholas Rucker, a physical therapist assistant student from Athens Technical9
1919 College, has been named the 2024 GOAL winner, embodying the dedication, skill, and10
2020 passion for excellence that the award seeks to honor; and11
2121 WHEREAS, the Rick Perkins Award for Excellence in Technical Instruction is bestowed12
2222 upon technical college instructors who demonstrate exceptional teaching abilities, making13
2323 significant contributions to the education of Georgia's skilled workforce; and14

2626 WHEREAS, Sharoko Farley, an instructor from Central Georgia Technical College, has been

2828 distinguished as the 2024 recipient of the Rick Perkins Award, showcasing exemplary16
2929 dedication to student success and instructional excellence; and17
3030 WHEREAS, the Dinah Culbreath Wayne Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education18
3131 (EAGLE) Award recognizes extraordinary achievements within the state's adult education19
3232 programs, highlighting individuals who have overcome challenges to pursue lifelong learning20
3333 and literacy; and21
3434 WHEREAS, Patria Brown, recognized for exceptional academic achievements within her22
3535 local education program at Cobb County School District, has been honored as TCSG's 202423
3636 Adult Education Student of the Year, reflecting the perseverance, hard work, and24
3737 commitment to personal and professional growth that the EAGLE Award celebrates; and25
3838 WHEREAS, the Outstanding Adult Education Teacher of the Year award acknowledges the26
3939 vital role of educators in adult learning, recognizing those who provide inspiration, support,27
4040 and high-quality instruction to their students; and28
4141 WHEREAS, Rhea Brashear, an adult education instructor from Southern Regional Technical29
4242 College, has been awarded the 2024 Outstanding Adult Education Teacher of the Year,30
4343 demonstrating exceptional teaching and mentoring abilities that contribute to the success and31
4444 empowerment of adult learners.32
4545 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33
4646 the members of this body recognize and commend the 2024 Technical College System of34
4747 Georgia award winners and do hereby congratulate Nicholas Rucker, Sharoko Farley, Patria35
4848 Brown, and Rhea Brashear on their prestigious achievements.36

5151 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
