| 19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, autoimmune diseases impact thousands of Georgians each year,3 |

| 20 | 20 | | disproportionately affecting women and people of color, but awareness and understanding4 |

| 21 | 21 | | of these diseases remains low; and5 |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | WHEREAS, recognizing autoimmune diseases during the month of March will help raise6 |

| 23 | 23 | | public awareness, encourage early detection and diagnosis, and support research and policy7 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes; and8 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | WHEREAS, designating the month of March as Autoimmune Disease Awareness Month 9 |

| 26 | 26 | | will demonstrate the State of Georgia's commitment to health equity and highlight its10 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | dedication to supporting Georgians facing these chronic, often invisible, illnesses.11 |

| 28 | 28 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that12 |

| 30 | 30 | | (1) Designate March of each year as Autoimmune Disease Awareness Month in the State14 |

| 39 | 39 | | (3) Respectfully request the Governor to issue annually a proclamation recognizing20 |

| 40 | 40 | | March in the State of Georgia as Autoimmune Awareness Month and call upon the21 |

| 41 | 41 | | people in the State of Georgia to observe the month with appropriate programs and22 |
