Milner; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Emily L. Milner on December 17, 2024; and3 WHEREAS, Emily L. Milner was born on January 18, 1917, and this year represents the4 108th anniversary of her birth; and5 WHEREAS, a woman of deep and abiding faith, Emily L. Milner was an active member of6 the Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Atlanta; and7 WHEREAS, affectionately know as Miss Emily by her congregation, she held her faith close8 to her heart, devoted her time to praying the rosary, faithfully attended mass, and proudly9 held the title of longest-living alumna of Our Lady of Lourdes School; and 10 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern11 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to12 her family and friends were admired by others; and13 H. R. 53 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0024 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation 14 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,15 she made this world a better place in which to live; and16 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Emily L. Milner will long be17 remembered for her love of Christ, her family, and her community and will be missed by all18 who had the great fortune of knowing her.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Emily L. Milner and21 express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 family of Emily L.
