1616 Commending The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett; and for other purposes.

1818 WHEREAS, The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett (Good Sam Gwinnett) is a2
1919 non-profit organization dedicated to serving the uninsured and low-income residents of3
2020 Gwinnett County through two charitable clinics, Good Sam East and Good Sam West, both4
2121 located in Norcross; and5
2222 WHEREAS, since its founding in 2005, Good Sam Gwinnett has provided low-cost medical6
2323 care, dental care, counseling services, and medication assistance across the lifespan of7
2424 patients in need, serving more than 300,000 individuals over the past 20 years; and8
2525 WHEREAS, Good Sam Gwinnett operates with the mission of demonstrating Christ's love9
2626 by ensuring that no individual in the community needlessly suffers from treatable health or10
2727 dental conditions due to lack of access to care; and11
2828 WHEREAS, the organization strives to achieve its goals of providing quality, affordable12
2929 healthcare and dental services to the uninsured, reducing the burden on emergency rooms for13
3030 non-emergency services, and equipping future medical professionals to address the unique14
3131 challenges faced by disadvantaged patient populations; and15

3434 WHEREAS, by fulfilling its mission, Good Sam Gwinnett helps to eliminate health

3636 disparities among the poor and uninsured, reduces the overall cost of indigent care in the17
3737 healthcare system, and enhances awareness within the medical community of the needs of18
3838 underserved populations; and19
3939 WHEREAS, under the leadership of CEO Shameka Allen and with a staff of over 50 full-20
4040 and part-time front line workers, The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett remains21
4141 committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to those who22
4242 might otherwise go without.23
4343 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
4444 the members of this body commend The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett for its25
4545 unwavering dedication to serving uninsured and low-income individuals and extend best26
4646 wishes for continued success in its mission.27
4747 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
