A RESOLUTION
Commending The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett (Good Sam Gwinnett) is a2
non-profit organization dedicated to serving the uninsured and low-income residents of3
Gwinnett County through two charitable clinics, Good Sam East and Good Sam West, both4
located in Norcross; and5
WHEREAS, since its founding in 2005, Good Sam Gwinnett has provided low-cost medical6
care, dental care, counseling services, and medication assistance across the lifespan of7
patients in need, serving more than 300,000 individuals over the past 20 years; and8
WHEREAS, Good Sam Gwinnett operates with the mission of demonstrating Christ's love9
by ensuring that no individual in the community needlessly suffers from treatable health or10
dental conditions due to lack of access to care; and11
WHEREAS, the organization strives to achieve its goals of providing quality, affordable12
healthcare and dental services to the uninsured, reducing the burden on emergency rooms for13
non-emergency services, and equipping future medical professionals to address the unique14
challenges faced by disadvantaged patient populations; and15

WHEREAS, by fulfilling its mission, Good Sam Gwinnett helps to eliminate health
16
disparities among the poor and uninsured, reduces the overall cost of indigent care in the17
healthcare system, and enhances awareness within the medical community of the needs of18
underserved populations; and19
WHEREAS, under the leadership of CEO Shameka Allen and with a staff of over 50 full-20
and part-time front line workers, The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett remains21
committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services to those who22
might otherwise go without.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body commend The Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett for its25
unwavering dedication to serving uninsured and low-income individuals and extend best26
wishes for continued success in its mission.27
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The29
Good Samaritan Health Centers of Gwinnett.30
