Washington, recipient of the Women on Purpose award; and for 1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Evetta B. Washington has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to service,3 advocacy, and empowerment; and4 WHEREAS, in recognition of her outstanding contributions to the Rockdale community,5 Evetta B. Washington has been selected as a recipient of the Women on Purpose award6 during Rockdale County's Women's History Month celebration; and7 WHEREAS, she is a charter and legacy life member of the Rockdale-Newton Section of the8 National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) Inc., where she currently serves as president9 and has previously held the positions of first vice president and chair of the Scholarship10 Committee; and11 WHEREAS, in addition to her work with NCNW, Evetta B. Washington has been an active12 member of the Rockdale County Branch of the NAACP, serving as assistant treasurer, chair13 of the Communications Committee, and co-chair of the Black History Month Celebration14 Committee; and15 H. R. 702 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3474 WHEREAS, she remains connected to her alma mater as a member of the Atlanta Alumni 16 Chapter of South Carolina State University and is a devoted member of Antioch-Lithonia17 Missionary Baptist Church, where she serves in the Mass Communication Ministry; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize this remarkable individual for19 her invaluable service and leadership.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body recognize and commend Evetta B. Washington, recipient of the22 Women on Purpose award, and extend best wishes for continued success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to25 Evetta B.
