25 LC 129 0382 House Resolution 710 By: Representatives Adeyina of the 110 th , Clark of the 108 th , Beckles of the 96 th , and Okoye of the 102 nd A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Ego Mang Nwokeka Ndukwe; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Ego Mang Nwokeka Ndukwe is a prominent leader within the broader Nigerian2 and Igbo-American communities as well as a dedicated community activist; and 3 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,4 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced5 dramatically by her superlative service with several civic organizations; and6 WHEREAS, she is the Chief Operating Officer of Another Chance Customized Services, a7 rehabilitation center that supports individuals with disabilities, which she and her late8 husband founded in Decatur 20 years ago; and 9 WHEREAS, a staunch proponent of inclusivity, she established the American Coalition of10 Africans with disABILITIES (ECI) in 2001, to advocate for and support individuals with11 disabilities; and 12 H. R. 710 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0382 WHEREAS, she has served as a member of the Governor's Council on Developmental 13 Disabilities, is affiliated with ReBoot Computers for Individuals with Disabilities, and serves14 with the Friends of Disabled Adults and Children; and15 WHEREAS, in 2007, she began donating medical equipment to Akahaba Hospital in her16 hometown of Abiriba, Nigeria, and founded Another Chance Nigeria to empower disabled17 individuals in Western Nigeria by providing mobility equipment and job skills training; and18 WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and19 diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of both the citizens of this state20 and around the world have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and21 associates; and22 WHEREAS, her life and work exemplify resilience, leadership, compassion, and steadfast23 faith in God; her legacy continues to uplift and inspire her community; and24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 remarkable and distinguished community member be appropriately recognized.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Ego Mang Nwokeka Ndukwe for her28 efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service and extend the most sincere best29 wishes for continued health and happiness.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ego32 Mang Nwokeka Ndukwe.33 H.
