19 | 19 | | WHEREAS, Scott Maxwell has rendered decades of exceptional service across the public3 |

20 | 20 | | and private sectors, using his extensive media and legislative experience, strategic insight,4 |

21 | 21 | | and relationships with decision-makers at all levels of government to influence public policy5 |
---|
22 | 22 | | and support clients throughout Georgia and beyond; and6 |

23 | 23 | | WHEREAS, he is the founding principal of Mathews & Maxwell Inc., a respected7 |

24 | 24 | | governmental affairs consulting firm he co-founded in 1997 that has twice been named the8 |
---|
25 | 25 | | most effective small governmental affairs firm in Georgia by James Magazine; and9 |
---|
26 | 26 | | WHEREAS, during his tenure at Mathews & Maxwell, he has led the development of short-10 |
---|
27 | 27 | | and long-term strategies to help clients achieve success in legislative, procurement, and11 |
---|
28 | 28 | | regulatory matters, representing sectors such as agribusiness, construction, healthcare,12 |
---|
29 | 29 | | manufacturing, transportation, and state procurement; and13 |
---|
30 | 30 | | WHEREAS, his consulting work has involved drafting policy papers, managing issue14 |
---|
31 | 31 | | education campaigns, testifying before legislative committees, monitoring the work of15 |

39 | 39 | | responsibilities for the Senate Armed Services Committee, where Senator Nunn served as20 |

41 | 41 | | WHEREAS, his public service experience also includes work as assistant press secretary for22 |

42 | 42 | | the Ginn for Governor Campaign in 1982, reading clerk for the Georgia State Senate in 1981,23 |

43 | 43 | | and disaster public information officer for the United States Small Business Administration24 |

44 | 44 | | from 1979 to 1980; and25 |

45 | 45 | | WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this26 |

46 | 46 | | remarkable and distinguished individual be appropriately recognized.27 |

47 | 47 | | NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 |

49 | 49 | | exemplary career service; congratulate him upon the grand occasion of his retirement; and30 |
