25 LC 112 3528 House Resolution 842 By: Representatives Bell of the 75 th , Willis of the 55 th , McQueen of the 61 st , Berry of the 56 th , and Cannon of the 58 th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Kilo Ali for his outstanding contributions to Atlanta's musical 1 sound, culture, and his lasting impact on the global music industry; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Andrell D. Rogers, known professionally as Kilo Ali, is a pioneering rapper,3 songwriter, and artist whose groundbreaking contributions to Atlanta's hip-hop and bass4 music scene have left an indelible mark on the city's culture; and5 WHEREAS, born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Kilo Ali emerged as one of the defining6 voices of Southern hip-hop, blending high-energy beats, innovative production, and7 charismatic lyricism to create a signature sound that helped establish Atlanta as a dominant8 force in the music industry; and9 WHEREAS, he played a pivotal role in the development of Atlanta bass music, a subgenre10 characterized by its infectious rhythms and club-oriented appeal, influencing generations of11 artists and producers who followed in his footsteps; and12 WHEREAS, his debut album, America Has a Problem, introduced his unique style and social13 commentary, while subsequent releases such as Organized Bass and Get This Party Started14 solidified his reputation as a trailblazer in the Southern hip-hop movement; and15 H. R. 842 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3528 WHEREAS, Kilo Ali's music, including hits such as "Cocaine" (America Has a Problem), 16 "Show Me Love," and "Love in Ya Mouth," became anthems of the Atlanta music scene,17 garnering widespread popularity and establishing him as a leading figure in the industry; and18 WHEREAS, he worked with and influenced some of Atlanta's most celebrated artists and19 producers, including Lil Jon, DJ Taz, and the broader Southern hip-hop and crunk20 movements, paving the way for Atlanta's dominance in the global rap scene; and21 WHEREAS, Kilo Ali's legacy extends beyond music as he represents the spirit of innovation,22 resilience, and authenticity that defines Atlanta's artistic and cultural landscape; and23 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this body recognize the exceptional24 achievements of Kilo Ali and extend gratitude for his contributions to the State of Georgia's25 musical heritage and cultural influence worldwide.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend Kilo Ali for his outstanding contributions28 to music and culture and express their sincere appreciation for his lasting influence on the29 State of Georgia and beyond.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Kilo32 Ali.33 H.
