77 Honoring the life and memory of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen; and for other purposes.

99 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
1010 with the passing of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen on March 24, 2025; and3
1111 WHEREAS, Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen was born on June 30, 1930, as the 12th child4
1212 of William Lawrence Sosebee and Ollie Ledford Edison Sosebee; and5
1313 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Orlando "Pete" McMichen,6
1414 and was blessed with four remarkable children, Aurelia, Charlotte, Joyce, and Kenneth; five7
1515 wonderful grandchildren, Jana, Stephenie, Kristy, Justin, and Kaleb; nine beloved8
1616 great-grandchildren; and six magnificent great-great-grandchildren; and9
1717 WHEREAS, a devoted homemaker, she dedicated herself to raising her children and10
1818 embraced her role as a loving Nanny to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and11
1919 great-great-grandchildren; and12

2222 WHEREAS, a proud graduate of Dallas High School in 1948, Ella Levenia Sosebee

2424 McMichen remained actively connected with her classmates through reunions and events14
2525 with the 48 Gang; and15
2626 WHEREAS, in her later years, she enjoyed traveling and playing cards, but above all, she16
2727 loved Jesus and remained a faithful prayer warrior, lifting up her family and friends in17
2828 constant prayer; and18
2929 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern19
3030 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to20
3131 her family and friends were admired by others; and21
3232 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation22
3333 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,23
3434 she made this world a better place in which to live; and24
3535 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen will25
3636 long be remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed26
3737 by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.27
3838 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28
3939 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Ella Levenia Sosebee29
4040 McMichen and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.30
4141 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31
4242 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the32
4343 family of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen.33
