25 LC 112 3577 House Resolution 908 By: Representative Burns of the 159 th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen on March 24, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen was born on June 30, 1930, as the 12th child4 of William Lawrence Sosebee and Ollie Ledford Edison Sosebee; and5 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, Orlando "Pete" McMichen,6 and was blessed with four remarkable children, Aurelia, Charlotte, Joyce, and Kenneth; five7 wonderful grandchildren, Jana, Stephenie, Kristy, Justin, and Kaleb; nine beloved8 great-grandchildren; and six magnificent great-great-grandchildren; and9 WHEREAS, a devoted homemaker, she dedicated herself to raising her children and10 embraced her role as a loving Nanny to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and11 great-great-grandchildren; and12 H. R. 908 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3577 WHEREAS, a proud graduate of Dallas High School in 1948, Ella Levenia Sosebee 13 McMichen remained actively connected with her classmates through reunions and events14 with the 48 Gang; and15 WHEREAS, in her later years, she enjoyed traveling and playing cards, but above all, she16 loved Jesus and remained a faithful prayer warrior, lifting up her family and friends in17 constant prayer; and18 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern19 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding she demonstrated to20 her family and friends were admired by others; and21 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation22 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,23 she made this world a better place in which to live; and24 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen will25 long be remembered for her love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed26 by all who had the great fortune of knowing her.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that28 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Ella Levenia Sosebee29 McMichen and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the32 family of Ella Levenia Sosebee McMichen.33 H.
