25 LC 129 0478 House Resolution 923 By: Representatives Stephens of the 164 th , Gilliard of the 162 nd , and Jackson of the 165 th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Joan Quaterman upon her retirement; and for other purposes. 1 WHEREAS, Joan Quaterman has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the2 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare3 of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,5 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced6 dramatically by her superlative service with the Leisure Services Bureau; and7 WHEREAS, Joan has shown exceptional dedication and an unwavering commitment to the8 development and enrichment of children through her tireless efforts in recreation in9 Savannah, Georgia's, Hull Park; and 10 WHEREAS, for over 52 years, she has championed a safe, supportive, and engaging11 environment for children to grow, learn, and thrive during the summer break; and12 H. R. 923 - 1 - 25 LC 129 0478 WHEREAS, she has positively impacted the lives of countless children through her support 13 in distributing meals from the City of Savannah’s federally-funded free summer lunch14 program; and 15 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, Joan has served with honor and distinction, and her vision and unyielding18 commitment to the children in Hull Park will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her19 retirement; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Joan Quaterman for her efficient,24 effective, unselfish, and dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her25 upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for26 continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Joan29 Quaterman.30 H.
