66 Honoring the life and memory of Roosevelt Robinson; and for other purposes.

88 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
99 with the passing of Roosevelt Robinson on January 5, 2025; and3
1010 WHEREAS, Roosevelt Robinson was born on November 11, 1936, in Pike County, Georgia,4
1111 a beloved son of Charlie and Lillie Mae Alexander Robinson; and5
1212 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Blanche, and was blessed with6
1313 three remarkable children, Roosevelt Jr., Randy, and Deedrea; seven wonderful7
1414 grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Tyler, Jordan, Patrick, William Jr., and Kaelon; and four8
1515 outstanding great-grandchildren, Jaida, Justin Jr., Amirah, and Naliyah; and9
1616 WHEREAS, Roosevelt Robinson found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly10
1717 fishing and gardening, and he remained a source of love and strength for his family despite11
1818 his declining health; and12

2121 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern

2323 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his14
2424 family and friends were admired by others; and15
2525 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation16
2626 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he17
2727 made this world a better place in which to live; and18
2828 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Roosevelt Robinson will long be19
2929 remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who20
3030 had the great fortune of knowing him.21
3131 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22
3232 join in honoring the life and memory of Roosevelt Robinson and express their deepest and23
3333 most sincere regret at his passing.24
3434 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25
3535 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of26
3636 Roosevelt Robinson.27
