A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Roosevelt Robinson; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Roosevelt Robinson on January 5, 2025; and3
WHEREAS, Roosevelt Robinson was born on November 11, 1936, in Pike County, Georgia,4
a beloved son of Charlie and Lillie Mae Alexander Robinson; and5
WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Blanche, and was blessed with6
three remarkable children, Roosevelt Jr., Randy, and Deedrea; seven wonderful7
grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Tyler, Jordan, Patrick, William Jr., and Kaelon; and four8
outstanding great-grandchildren, Jaida, Justin Jr., Amirah, and Naliyah; and9
WHEREAS, Roosevelt Robinson found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly10
fishing and gardening, and he remained a source of love and strength for his family despite11
his declining health; and12

WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern

for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his14
family and friends were admired by others; and15
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation16
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he17
made this world a better place in which to live; and18
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Roosevelt Robinson will long be19
remembered for his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who20
had the great fortune of knowing him.21
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body22
join in honoring the life and memory of Roosevelt Robinson and express their deepest and23
most sincere regret at his passing.24
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of26
Roosevelt Robinson.27
