| 8 | 8 | | WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 |

| 9 | 9 | | with the passing of Phillip Hampton Sims on February 7, 2025; and 3 |

| 10 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Phillip Hampton Sims was born in 1956 in Forest Park, Georgia, to the late4 |

| 11 | 11 | | H.B. Sims and Theresa Staples Sims; and5 |

| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, he and his family moved to Tyrone, Georgia, in 1966 and put down roots on a6 |

| 13 | 13 | | gorgeous farm; and7 |

| 14 | 14 | | WHEREAS, after college, he opened a family business, S&S Glass, in Tyrone and served8 |

| 15 | 15 | | the community at the College Park Fire Department, where he was a fireman for 26 years,9 |

| 16 | 16 | | retiring in 2007; and 10 |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, he will be remembered for his big fish personality, providing an endless source11 |

| 18 | 18 | | of stories; for his desire to not only embrace the outdoors but to instill that passion in others;12 |

| 19 | 19 | | and for his selfless, unconditional love of family and friends, for whom he was always13 |
