55 Honoring the life and memory of Scott Justus; and for other purposes.

77 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
88 with the passing of Scott Justus on January 11, 2025; and3
99 WHEREAS, Scott Justus was born on February 24, 1959, in Hendersonville, North Carolina,4
1010 a beloved son of James Charles and Roberta Griffin Justus; and5
1111 WHEREAS, he was an accomplished entrepreneur who devoted more than 30 years to the6
1212 construction industry, building countless quality homes and serving as a member of the7
1313 National Association of Home Builders, the Home Builders Association of Georgia, and the8
1414 West Georgia Board of Realtors; and9
1515 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Scott Justus was an active member of Villa10
1616 Rica First United Methodist Church; and11

1919 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife of 34 years, Lisa, and was

2121 blessed with three remarkable children, John, Lauren, and Charles, as well as two wonderful13
2222 grandchildren, Grady and Madeline; and14
2323 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern15
2424 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his16
2525 family and friends were admired by others; and17
2626 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation18
2727 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he19
2828 made this world a better place in which to live; and20
2929 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Scott Justus will long be remembered for21
3030 his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great22
3131 fortune of knowing him.23
3232 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
3333 join in honoring the life and memory of Scott Justus and express their deepest and most25
3434 sincere regret at his passing.26
3535 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27
3636 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Scott28
3737 Justus.29
