Senate Resolution 22
By: Senators Bearden of the 30th and Brass of the 6th 
A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Scott Justus; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Scott Justus on January 11, 2025; and3
WHEREAS, Scott Justus was born on February 24, 1959, in Hendersonville, North Carolina,4
a beloved son of James Charles and Roberta Griffin Justus; and5
WHEREAS, he was an accomplished entrepreneur who devoted more than 30 years to the6
construction industry, building countless quality homes and serving as a member of the7
National Association of Home Builders, the Home Builders Association of Georgia, and the8
West Georgia Board of Realtors; and9
WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Scott Justus was an active member of Villa10
Rica First United Methodist Church; and11

WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife of 34 years, Lisa, and was

blessed with three remarkable children, John, Lauren, and Charles, as well as two wonderful13
grandchildren, Grady and Madeline; and14
WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern15
for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his16
family and friends were admired by others; and17
WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation18
for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he19
made this world a better place in which to live; and20
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Scott Justus will long be remembered for21
his love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great22
fortune of knowing him.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24
join in honoring the life and memory of Scott Justus and express their deepest and most25
sincere regret at his passing.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27
to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of Scott28
Justus.29
