| 12 | 12 | | WHEREAS, the band strives to prepare students for post-secondary education by offering6 |

| 13 | 13 | | exposure to diverse opportunities through travel and assisting graduating seniors in securing7 |

| 14 | 14 | | music scholarships, thereby making higher education more accessible and affordable; and8 |

| 15 | 15 | | WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Majestic Marching Cardinals have established themselves as the9 |

| 16 | 16 | | premier ambassadors for Clayton County and the Jonesboro community; and10 |

| 17 | 17 | | WHEREAS, under the leadership of Director Lynel Goodwin, the band has earned national11 |

| 18 | 18 | | acclaim through major accomplishments such as performing at the City of Jonesboro12 |

| 19 | 19 | | Mayoral Inauguration in 2019, participating in the nationally televised Chicago Thanksgiving13 |

| 20 | 20 | | Day Parade in 2019, making an appearance on Good Morning America in 2021, and14 |

| 21 | 21 | | emerging as champions of the Great Atlanta Band Challenge in 2021; and15 |
