25 LC 112 3166 Senate Resolution 280 By: Senators Beach of the 21st, Summers of the 13th, Brass of the 6th, Bearden of the 30th, Williams of the 25th and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia (ETAG) and recognizing 1 February 28, 2025, as Entertainment Tourism Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia (ETAG) is dedicated to3 promoting and supporting Georgia's thriving entertainment and tourism industries, which4 significantly contribute to the state's economy, culture, and global reputation; and5 WHEREAS, Georgia has become a leading destination for film, television, music, digital6 media, and live entertainment production, generating billions of dollars in economic impact7 and creating thousands of jobs across the state; and8 WHEREAS, the state's diverse landscapes, historic sites, world-class production facilities,9 and skilled workforce have positioned Georgia as a premier location for10 entertainment-related tourism, drawing visitors from around the world to experience its rich11 cultural heritage and cinematic attractions; and12 WHEREAS, ETAG plays a crucial role in fostering collaboration among industry leaders,13 local businesses, and government officials to ensure continued growth and sustainability in14 Georgia's entertainment tourism sector; and15 S. R. 280 - 1 - 25 LC 112 3166 WHEREAS, the organization actively promotes initiatives that enhance the visibility of 16 Georgia's entertainment attractions, advocate for policies that support the industry, and17 provide educational resources for aspiring professionals in the field; and18 WHEREAS, the economic impact of the state's entertainment tourism industry is significant,19 and ETAG is working with industry partners to create an economic impact calculator for this20 robust industry; in addition, ETAG is building a network so that Georgia communities, large21 and small, have the opportunity to benefit from entertainment tourism; and22 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize the contributions of ETAG and to celebrate23 its efforts in strengthening Georgia's status as a top destination for entertainment tourism.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body25 commend the Entertainment Tourism Alliance of Georgia (ETAG) for its dedication to26 advancing the entertainment and tourism industries in Georgia and recognize February 28,27 2025, as Entertainment Tourism Day at the state capitol.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Entertainment30 Tourism Alliance of Georgia.31 S.
