88 WHEREAS, patients depend on the more than 20,000 licensed Advanced Practice Registered2
99 Nurses (APRN) in Georgia to diagnose, manage, and treat their chronic and acute health care3
1010 conditions; and4
1111 WHEREAS, APRNs work to expand health care access in communities across the State of5
1212 Georgia, promoting health equity in care and improving health outcomes for all; and6
1313 WHEREAS, the confidence patients have in APRN-delivered health care is evidenced by the7
1414 more than one billion visits made annually to APRNs across the country; and8
1515 WHEREAS, better utilization of APRNs through modernized state laws and improved9
1616 policies creates better health outcomes through a more accessible, efficient, cost-effective,10
1717 and higher-quality health care system; and11
1818 WHEREAS, APRNs serve as major health care providers for many Georgians and play a12
1919 pivotal role in the health and welfare of our communities.13

2222 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body

2424 recognize January 30, 2025, as APRN Day at the state capitol and commend the men and15
2525 women of our APRN workforce for their strength, leadership, and courage in their16
2626 willingness to find meaning in something greater than themselves.17
2727 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed18
2828 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the19
2929 press.20
