43	43	BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

The director of finance is authorized to issue general obligation bonds in the sum of $10,400,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary is appropriated for fiscal year 2022-2023 for the purpose of financing capital improvement projects for the twenty-first representative district, as follows: To be expended by the department of education: A. Ala Wai elementary school, Oahu Plans, design, equipment, and construction to extend walkways in front of six classroom buildings to provide additional space for outdoor learning. Plans $ 1,000 Design $ 1,000 Equipment $ 1,000 Construction $197,000 Total funding $200,000 B. Kaimuki middle school, Oahu Plans, design, equipment, and construction to expand parking lot. Plans $ 1,000 Design $ 1,000 Equipment $ 1,000 Construction $1,597,000 Total funding $1,600,000 C. Kaimuki middle school, Oahu Plans, design, equipment, and construction add a non-covered walkway from the cafeteria to the physical education building. SECTION 3. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act. SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2022.
