(a) The governor shall appoint the governor's coordinator on homelessness for the proper administration and enforcement of this chapter without regard to chapter 76. (b) The governor's coordinator on homelessness, in conjunction with the Hawaii interagency council on homelessness, may develop plans for the city and county of Honolulu and the counties of Hawaii, Kauai, and Maui to coordinate the services and shelter facilities of public agencies and nonprofit organizations to meet the concerns of communities impacted by homelessness and the needs of the homeless population of regions within each county. Each county plan shall identify regions within each county and the specific goals and objectives for each region. County coordinators shall take into account the concerns of communities impacted by homelessness and the needs of the homeless population of each region." SECTION 3. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored. SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on May 1, 2029. | |
