4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

47- SECTION 1. (a) The superintendent, or the superintendent's designee, shall serve as the summer learning coordinator for the department of education and shall coordinate all school based summer programs for children, including but not limited to public summer school, e-school summer program, 21st Century Community Learning Centers' summer program, UPLINK summer program, A+ summer program, Credit Recovery summer program, alternative learning summer programs, and other school-based summer programs. (b) The summer learning coordinator shall work with the department of human services to leverage federal funds, including but not limited to temporary assistance for needy family (TANF) funds; child care and development block grants; and Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funds for school-based summer programs for children. SECTION 2. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.
