A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR SCHOOLS IN THE THIRTY-EIGHTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 

      SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2023-2024: 1. Kipapa elementary, Oahu A. Construction of covered play court, land preparation, construction of a stage, bathrooms and storage. These are additional funds to approved 2021 appropriations to cover increased costs.  Design and construction                $2,500,000 Total funding                          $2,500,000      B. Air conditioning the cafeteria.  Design and construction                $1,500,000 Total funding                          $1,500,000 2. Mililani high school, Oahu A. Faculty Housing with Preschool.  Plan                                   $1,000,000 Design                                 $2,000,000 Construction                           $17,000,000 Total funding                          $20,000,000 B. Construction of covered play court.  Design                                 $900,000 Construction                           $6,100,000 Total funding                          $7,000,000 3. Mililani Ike elementary school, Oahu.  Resurfacing of driveways, drop off lanes, and two parking lots.  Design, removal of current materials, installation, re-stripping. Construction                           $1,000,000 Total funding                          $1,000,000 4. Mililani Waena elementary school, Oahu.  Cafeteria upgrades.  Expansion of the existing dining room.  Construction of an outdoor covered open-air dining area.  Addition of a serving kitchen within the cafeteria building.  Renovation of the existing serving kitchen into offices and a conference room for counselors, including air conditioning.  Design                                 $700,000 Construction                           $6,000,000 Equipment                              $300,000 Additional                             $7,000,000 Total funding                          $14,000,000       SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.      SECTION 3.
