4545 WHEREAS, DANIEL PRUDER was recently selected as a 2023 United States Senate Youth Program delegate; and WHEREAS, DANIEL PRUDER is a senior at Punahou School and the leader of Punahou's Model UN and Civic Engagement clubs, while also being an active member of the Punahou theatre program; he has served on the Honolulu Youth Commission representing District 5 since the commission began in 2021, first as Vice-Chair and currently as Chair; and WHEREAS, DANIEL PRUDER has interned with the office of former Lieutenant Governor Josh Green and Honolulu City Council member Calvin Say; he also volunteered with the first legislative committee of Vote16HI, which seeks to lower the statewide voting age to 16; and WHEREAS, in addition to his admirable public service contributions, DANIEL PRUDER was named an Outstanding Advocate for Children and Youth during the 2022 Hawaii Children and Youth Day celebration and received the Mayor's Award of Recognition for his appointment to the Honolulu Youth Commission; and WHEREAS, MAVERICK YASUDA was recently selected as a 2023 United States Senate Youth Program delegate; and WHEREAS, a senior at Waipahu High School, MAVERICK YASUDA is an exceptional academic who plans on receiving an associate degree in liberal arts upon graduating from high school; and WHEREAS, MAVERICK YASUDA is a member of the student government, Phi Theta Kappa collegiate honor society, and Ivy League club and serves as the vice president of the school's Academy of Natural Resources; and WHEREAS, beyond the classroom, MAVERICK YASUDA is the student member of the Hawaii State Board of Education, representing 168,000 public school students throughout the State; in addition to his remarkable service efforts, he received the Outstanding Advocate for Children and Youth award during the 2022 Hawaii Children and Youth Day celebration; and WHEREAS, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA was recently selected as the International Co-President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society; and WHEREAS, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA is a dually enrolled student at Waipahu High School and the University of Hawaii through the early college program; she will receive an Associate in Arts degree with a certificate in business management from Leeward Community College upon graduation; and WHEREAS, serving in several leadership roles, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA is a representative for the Hawaii State Student Council and the Public Relations Officer for the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps; and WHEREAS, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA was also appointed by the Mayor to the Honolulu Youth Commission and serves as its Secretary while advising the Mayor and County Council on issues concerning Honolulu's youth; and WHEREAS, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA has been a proud member of Waipahu's Phi Theta Kappa Beta Chi Omega Chapter and served as the 2021-2022 Phi Theta Kappa Pacific Region President; in her current role as International Co-President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, she is the first dually enrolled student and youngest person to serve as an international officer; and WHEREAS, WAIPAHU HIGH SCHOOL'S TEAM 1 recently earned second place at the 2023 LifeSmarts Consumer Education Competition; and WHEREAS, after dedicating hours of preparation, WAIPAHU HIGH SCHOOL'S TEAM 1, consisting of team members, captain Isabelle Ava Delos Santos, Estefany Mae Bayudan, Ken Hirohata, Hunter Von Tungeln, and Serenity Kalai and coached by Cindy Takara, competed in the statewide final hosted at the University of Hawaii at Mānoa's Campus Center Ballroom and secured second place; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the Thirty-second Legislature of the State of Hawaii, Regular Session of 2023, that this body hereby congratulates DANIEL PRUDER and MAVERICK YASUDA for being selected as the 2023 United Senate Youth Program Delegates, KEZIAH CHRISTIE UNCIANO ANCHETA for being selected as the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society International Co-president, and WAIPAHU HIGH SCHOOL'S TEAM 1, for earning second place at the 2023 LifeSmarts Consumer Education Competition, commends their outstanding accomplishments and community involvement, and extends to them its warmest aloha and best wishes for continued success in all their future endeavors.
