4343 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

47- SECTION 1. Section 201B-2, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (c) to read as follows: "(c) Members shall be appointed by the governor for terms of four years; provided that membership on the board shall not exceed eight consecutive years; provided further that each member shall hold office until the member's successor is appointed [and qualified]." SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 3000.
