| 9 | + | 7 Sec. 356z.48. Colonoscopy coverage. |
|---|
| 10 | + | 8 (a) A group policy of accident and health insurance that |
|---|
| 11 | + | 9 is amended, delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January |
|---|
| 12 | + | 10 1, 2022 shall provide coverage for a colonoscopy that is a |
|---|
| 13 | + | 11 follow-up exam based on an initial screen where the |
|---|
| 14 | + | 12 colonoscopy was determined to be medically necessary by a |
|---|
| 15 | + | 13 physician licensed to practice medicine in all its branches, |
|---|
| 16 | + | 14 an advanced practice registered nurse, or a physician |
|---|
| 17 | + | 15 assistant. |

| 18 | + | 16 (b) A group or individual policy of accident and health |
|---|
| 19 | + | 17 insurance or managed care plan amended, delivered, issued, or |
|---|
| 20 | + | 18 renewed on or after January 1, 2026 shall provide coverage for |
|---|
| 21 | + | 19 a colonoscopy determined to be medically necessary. |
|---|
| 22 | + | 20 (c) (b) A policy subject to this Section shall not impose a |
|---|
| 23 | + | 21 deductible, coinsurance, copayment, or any other cost-sharing |
|---|
| 24 | + | 22 requirement on the coverage provided; except that this |
|---|
| 25 | + | 23 subsection does not apply to coverage of colonoscopies to the |
|---|
