311 1 AN ACT concerning regulation.
412 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
513 3 represented in the General Assembly:
614 4 Section 5. The Telehealth Act is amended by changing
715 5 Section 10 as follows:
816 6 (225 ILCS 150/10)
917 7 Sec. 10. Practice authority. A health care professional
1018 8 treating a patient located in this State through telehealth
1119 9 services must be licensed or authorized to practice in
1220 10 Illinois. A health care professional with a temporary permit
1321 11 for full practice advanced practice registered nurse for
1422 12 health care, a temporary permit for advanced practice
1523 13 registered nurse for health care, or a temporary permit for
1624 14 health care may treat a patient located in this State through
1725 15 telehealth services in a manner consistent with the health
1826 16 care professional's scope of practice and agreement with a
1927 17 sponsoring entity.
20-18 An out-of-state health care professional may treat a
21-19 patient located in this State through telehealth if the
22-20 patient is a student attending an institution of higher
23-21 education in this State, but is otherwise not a resident of the
24-22 State when not attending the institution of higher education.
28+18 A health care professional may treat a patient located in
29+19 another state if the patient is a student attending an
30+20 out-of-state institution of higher education but is otherwise
31+21 a resident in the State when not attending the institution of
32+22 higher education.
