1212 1 AN ACT concerning local government.
1313 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1414 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1515 4 Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
1616 5 adding Section 11-6-12 as follows:
1717 6 (65 ILCS 5/11-6-12 new)
1818 7 Sec. 11-6-12. Disclosure of offenses.
1919 8 (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, a person
2020 9 applying for a position in a fire department must disclose if
2121 10 he or she has been convicted, arrested, or charged with arson,
2222 11 aggravated arson, or criminal damage to property due to
2323 12 recklessly, by means of fire, damaging the property of another
2424 13 or knowingly starting a fire on the land of another.
2525 14 (b) The person or board hiring an individual who has
2626 15 applied to a position in a fire department may take into
2727 16 consideration the item or items disclosed under subsection (a)
2828 17 in the hiring or retention of the applicant.
2929 18 Section 10. The Fire Protection District Act is amended by

6969 1 (a) Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, a person
