1111 1 AN ACT concerning education.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The School Breakfast and Lunch Program Act is
1515 5 amended by changing Section 2 as follows:
1616 6 (105 ILCS 125/2) (from Ch. 122, par. 712.2)
1717 7 Sec. 2. Reimbursement of sponsors. The State Board of
1818 8 Education is authorized to reimburse school boards and welfare
1919 9 centers that operate free breakfast programs, school breakfast
2020 10 programs, free lunch programs, or school lunch programs for a
2121 11 portion of the costs of food served in balanced, nutritious
2222 12 breakfasts or lunches and served to students in non-profit
2323 13 public or private schools and non-profit welfare centers.
2424 14 The State Board of Education shall reimburse not less than
2525 15 $0.15 or the actual cost, whichever is less, to School Boards
2626 16 for each free lunch and not less than $0.15 or the actual cost,
2727 17 whichever is less, for each free breakfast supplied by them.
2828 18 This appropriation shall take into consideration be in
2929 19 addition to any federal contributions.
