11	11	1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Criminal Code of 2012 is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 12-6 as follows:
16	16	6 (720 ILCS 5/12-6) (from Ch. 38, par. 12-6)
17	17	7 Sec. 12-6. Intimidation.
18	18	8 (a) A person commits intimidation when, with intent to
19	19	9 cause another to perform or to omit the performance of any act,
20	20	10 he or she communicates to another, directly or indirectly by
21	21	11 any means, a threat to perform without lawful authority any of
22	22	12 the following acts:
23	23	13 (1) Inflict physical harm on the person threatened or
24	24	14 any other person or on property; or
25	25	15 (2) Subject any person to physical confinement or
26	26	16 restraint; or
27	27	17 (3) Commit a felony or Class A misdemeanor; or
28	28	18 (4) Accuse any person of an offense; or
29	29	19 (5) Expose any person to hatred, contempt or ridicule;
30	30	20 or
31	31	21 (6) Take action as a public official against anyone or
32	32	22 anything, or withhold official action, or cause such
33	33	23 action or withholding; or

70	70	3 (b) A person commits intimidation when, with intent to

75	75	8 to the other person, directly or indirectly by any means, a

78	78	11 Enforcement, another federal agency involved in immigration
79	79	12 enforcement, or any other person without consent of the person
80	80	13 whose immigration status the person wishes to disclose.
81	81	14 (b) Sentence.
82	82	15 Intimidation is a Class 3 felony for which an offender may
83	83	16 be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 2 years
84	84	17 and not more than 10 years.
