1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The State Budget Law of the Civil
5 Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section
6 50-23 as follows:

8 Sec. 50-23. Budget surplus; pension. If, in any State
9 fiscal year, there is a budget surplus, then, in the next State
10 fiscal year, the General Assembly shall appropriate to the
11 retirement systems established under Articles 2, 14, 15, 16,
12 and 18 of the Illinois Pension Code an additional 1% of the
13 amount contributed by the State under those Articles in the
14 immediately preceding State fiscal year.
