311 1 AN ACT concerning education.
412 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
513 3 represented in the General Assembly:
614 4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
715 5 24-3.1 as follows:

917 7 Sec. 24-3.1. Attendance for federal advocacy work. For any
1018 8 teacher who is a member of a statewide association
1119 9 representing teachers, who is elected by the association's
1220 10 membership to represent the association for federal advocacy
1321 11 work, for up to 10 days in any school year spent by a teacher
1422 12 during the term, time spent in attendance at a meeting or
1523 13 gathering for federal advocacy work shall be considered time
1624 14 expended in the service of the district and no deduction of
1725 15 wages shall be made for such attendance.
