3	11		1 AN ACT concerning education.
4	12		2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5	13		3 represented in the General Assembly:
6	14		4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section
7	15		5 2-3.196 as follows:

9	17		7 Sec. 2-3.196. Air Quality in Schools Task Force
10	18		8 (a) The Air Quality in Schools Task Force is created. The
11	19		9 purpose of the task force is to study and make recommendations
12	20		10 to the General Assembly on air quality goals for elementary,
13	21		11 middle and high schools, processes to assess current
14	22		12 ventilation systems in schools, processes to improve
15	23		13 ventilation after assessment, and potential State and federal
16	24		14 funding sources to improve school school air quality in the
17	25		15 State.
18	26		16 The Commission shall consist of the following members:
19	27		17 (1) One member appointed by the Speaker of the House
20	28		18 of Representatives.
21	29		19 (2) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
22	30		20 House of Representatives.
23	31		21 (3) One member appointed by the President of the
24	32		22 Senate.
25	33		23 (4) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
