3	11		1 AN ACT concerning business.
4	12		2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
5	13		3 represented in the General Assembly:
6	14		4 Section 5. The Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business
7	15		5 Practices Act is amended by adding Section 2BBBB as follows:

9	17		7 Sec. 2BBBB. Gas stoves.
10	18		8 (a) As used in this Section, "gas stove" means a household
11	19		9 natural gas stove or range that is used for food preparation
12	20		10 and provides at least one of the following functions:
13	21		11 (1) surface cooking;
14	22		12 (2) oven cooking; or
15	23		13 (3) broiling.
16	24		14 (b) No person shall sell, attempt to sell, or offer to sell
17	25		15 to a consumer in this State a gas stove that is manufactured on
18	26		16 or after January 1, 2024 unless a label on the gas stove bears
19	27		17 the message:
20	28		18 WARNING: Gas stoves can release nitrogen dioxide and
21	29		19 carbon monoxide inside homes at levels exceeding the EPA's
22	30		20 standards for outdoor air quality. The presence of these
23		-	21 pollutants may exacerbate pre-existing respiratory
