4-AN ACT concerning criminal law.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
8-adding Section 3-8-4.5 as follows:
9-(730 ILCS 5/3-8-4.5 new)
10-Sec. 3-8-4.5. Department of Corrections; committed
11-persons; transfer to sheriff. If the county jail located in
12-the county where the committed person was residing immediately
13-before his or her conviction for the offense for which he or
14-she is serving sentence in the Department of Corrections has a
15-reentry program for committed persons, the Department may
16-transfer the committed person to the sheriff of the county
17-where the reentry program is located for up to 12 months before
18-the committed person's release date for participation in the
19-reentry program. No transfer shall be made without the written
20-approval of the sheriff of that county.
