1 AN ACT concerning State government.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended
5 by adding Section 10-68 as follows:
6 (20 ILCS 1305/10-68 new)
7 Sec. 10-68. Mental health in the workplace. The Department
8 of Human Services shall direct the Illinois Mental Health
9 Planning and Advisory Council to establish a framework and
10 voluntary standard for mental health in the workplace that
11 serves to reduce mental health stigma, increase public,
12 employee, and employer awareness of recovery goals, and
13 provide guidance to the Illinois employer community to put in
14 place strategies and programs, as determined by the Illinois
15 Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council, to support the
16 mental health and wellness of employees in this State. The
17 Illinois Mental Health Planning and Advisory Council shall
18 consult with the Department of Labor to develop the standard.
