311 1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.
412 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
513 3 represented in the General Assembly:
614 4 Section 5. The Unified Code of Corrections is amended by
715 5 changing Section 3-8-4.5 as follows:

917 7 Sec. 3-8-4.5. Department of Corrections; committed
1018 8 persons; transfer to sheriff. If the county jail located in
1119 9 the county where the committed person was residing immediately
1220 10 before his or her conviction for the offense for which he or
1321 11 she is serving sentence in the Department of Corrections has a
1422 12 reentry program for committed persons, the Department may
1523 13 transfer the committed person to the sheriff of the county
1624 14 where the reentry program is located for up to 12 months before
1725 15 the committed person's release date for participation in the
1826 16 reentry program. No transfer shall be made without the written
1927 17 approval of the sheriff of that county. The Department of
2028 18 Corrections shall reimburse the county for any expenses
2129 19 incurred in the transfer of the committed person to the
2230 20 sheriff of the county where the reentry program is located,
2331 21 including the housing of the committed person transferred to
2432 22 the reentry program.
