| 10 | + | 8 Sec. 18. Weather radio requirement. |

| 11 | + | 9 (a) This Section applies to a person that installs a |
|---|
| 12 | + | 10 manufactured home in a mobile home community after 2023. |
|---|
| 13 | + | 11 (b) A person shall supply a weather radio inside each |
|---|
| 14 | + | 12 manufactured home that the person installs. The weather radio |
|---|
| 15 | + | 13 must be equipped with the following features: |
|---|
| 16 | + | 14 (1) tone alarm activation; |
|---|
| 17 | + | 15 (2) specific alert message encoding, or SAME, |
|---|
| 18 | + | 16 technology; and |
|---|
| 19 | + | 17 (3) public alert standard (CEA-2009) certification. |
|---|
| 20 | + | 18 (c) The supplying of a weather radio by a person that |
|---|
| 21 | + | 19 installs a manufactured home as required by this Section does |
|---|
| 22 | + | 20 not subject the person to liability for the functionality of |
|---|
| 23 | + | 21 that weather radio. |
|---|
| 24 | + | 22 (d) Each year during National Fire Prevention Week, the |
|---|
| 25 | + | 23 operator of a mobile home community is encouraged to provide a |
