4-AN ACT concerning regulation.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Illinois Plumbing License Law is amended by
8-adding Section 40.5 as follows:
9-(225 ILCS 320/40.5 new)
10-Sec. 40.5. Bottle filling stations.
11-(a) For the purposes of this Section, "bottle filling
12-station" means a plumbing fixture connected to the potable
13-water distribution system and sanitary drainage system that is
14-designed and intended for filling personal use drinking water
15-bottles or containers at least 10 inches (254 millimeters) in
16-height. A "bottle filling station" may be separate from or
17-integral to a drinking fountain and may incorporate a water
18-filter and a cooling system for chilling the drinking water.
19-(b) The Department shall adopt a rule requiring that for
20-each drinking fountain in any new construction where a
21-drinking fountain is required under the Illinois Plumbing
22-Code, 77 Ill. Adm. Code 890, there shall also be a bottle
23-filling station or a combined bottle filling station and
24-drinking fountain.
25-(c) The rules required to be adopted under this Section
26-shall take effect and be implemented by July 1, 2026.
