Defines "professional musician" as an individual musician or member of a band that earns $7,500 of income in a calendar year from sources related to his or her performance of music. 1  AN ACT concerning State government.
2  Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3  represented in the General Assembly:
4  Section 5. The Department of Labor Law of the Civil
5  Administrative Code of Illinois is amended by adding Section
6  1505-225 as follows:
7  (20 ILCS 1505/1505-225 new)
8  Sec. 1505-225. Protections for professional musicians. The
9  Department shall adopt rules to ensure that professional
10  musicians are guaranteed workplace protections consistent with
11  protections guaranteed to other occupations. As used in this
12  Section, "professional musician" means an individual musician
13  or member of a band that earns $7,500 of income in a calendar
14  year from sources related to his or her performance of music.
