4-AN ACT concerning local government.
5-Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
6-represented in the General Assembly:
7-Section 5. The Metropolitan Transit Authority Act is
8-amended by changing Sections 51 and 52 as follows:

10-Sec. 51. Free services; eligibility.
11-(a) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no later than
12-60 days following the effective date of this amendatory Act of
13-the 95th General Assembly and until subsection (b) is
14-implemented, any fixed route public transportation services
15-provided by, or under grant or purchase of service contracts
16-of, the Board shall be provided without charge to all senior
17-citizens of the Metropolitan Region (as such term is defined
18-in 70 ILCS 3615/1.03) aged 65 and older, under such conditions
19-as shall be prescribed by the Board.
20-(b) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no later than
21-180 days following the effective date of this amendatory Act
22-of the 96th General Assembly, any fixed route public
23-transportation services provided by, or under grant or
24-purchase of service contracts of, the Board shall be provided
25-without charge to senior citizens aged 65 and older who meet
26-the income eligibility limitation set forth in subsection

15+13 of, the Board shall be provided without charge to all senior
16+14 citizens of the Metropolitan Region (as such term is defined
17+15 in 70 ILCS 3615/1.03) aged 65 and older, under such conditions
18+16 as shall be prescribed by the Board.
19+17 (b) Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no later than
20+18 180 days following the effective date of this amendatory Act
21+19 of the 96th General Assembly, any fixed route public
22+20 transportation services provided by, or under grant or
23+21 purchase of service contracts of, the Board shall be provided

36-shall furnish all information reasonably necessary to
37-determine eligibility, including updated lists of individuals
38-who are eligible for services without charge under this
39-Section. After an initial eligibility determination is made,
40-an individual's eligibility for free services shall
41-automatically renew every 5 years after receipt by the
42-Authority of a copy of the individual's government-issued
43-identification card validating Illinois residency. Nothing in
44-this Section shall relieve the Board from providing reduced
45-fares as may be required by federal law.

73-Section 10. The Regional Transportation Authority Act is
74-amended by changing Sections 3A.15, 3A.16, 3B.14, and 3B.15 as
