12	12	1 AN ACT concerning government.
13	13	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
14	14	3 represented in the General Assembly:
15	15	4 Section 5. The Illinois State Police Act is amended by
16	16	5 adding Section 9.5 as follows:
17	17	6 (20 ILCS 2610/9.5 new)
18	18	7 Sec. 9.5. Credit history of applicants.
19	19	8 (a) An applicant's credit history may not be used to
20	20	9 prevent the appointment of an Illinois State Police officer.
21	21	10 (b) This Section does not apply to employment actions
22	22	11 performed under a collective bargaining agreement in effect on
23	23	12 the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 103rd General
24	24	13 Assembly. A collective bargaining agreement that conflicts
25	25	14 with subsection (a) may not be entered into, modified, or
26	26	15 extended on or after the effective date of this amendatory Act
27	27	16 of the 103rd General Assembly.
28	28	17 Section 10. The Illinois Police Training Act is amended by
29	29	18 adding Section 10.8 as follows:
