16 | | - | amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly. |

17 | | - | (a-5) In this Section, "trauma" has the meaning ascribed |

18 | | - | to that term in subsection (b) of Section 3-11 of this Code. |

20 | | - | district elected or appointed for a term beginning after the |
---|
21 | | - | effective date of this amendatory Act of the 97th General |

41 | | - | students and staff required by this Section must include |
---|
42 | | - | information that is relevant to and within the scope of the |
---|
43 | | - | duties of a school board member. Such information may include, |
---|
44 | | - | but is not limited to: |
---|
45 | | - | (1) the recognition of and care for trauma in students |
---|
46 | | - | and staff; |
---|
47 | | - | (2) the relationship between staff wellness and |
---|
48 | | - | student learning; |
---|
49 | | - | (3) the effect of trauma on student behavior and |
---|
50 | | - | learning; |
---|
51 | | - | (4) the prevalence of trauma among students, including |
---|
52 | | - | the prevalence of trauma among student populations at |
---|
53 | | - | higher risk of experiencing trauma; |
---|
54 | | - | (5) the effects of implicit or explicit bias on |
---|
55 | | - | recognizing trauma among various student groups in |
---|
56 | | - | connection with race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual |
---|
57 | | - | orientation, socio-economic status, and other relevant |
---|
