Provides that the Illinois Student Assistance Commission shall establish a Manufacturing Promise Scholarship Program to award scholarships to State residents who are enrolled in a public community college or other program with a major in manufacturing or a skilled trade. The Higher Education Student Assistance Act is 5 amended by adding Section 65.125 as follows: 6 (110 ILCS 947/65.125 new) 7 Sec. 65.125. Manufacturing Promise Scholarship Program. 8 (a) The Commission shall establish a Manufacturing Promise 9 Scholarship Program to award scholarships to State residents 10 who are enrolled in a public community college or other 11 program with a major in manufacturing or a skilled trade. 12 (b) Subject to a separate appropriation for such purposes, 13 the Commission shall, each year, receive and consider 14 applications for a scholarship under this Section.
