1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to extend
3 their congratulations to the School District 108 Lake Park
4 High School Competitive Dance Team, the Lancettes, for winning
5 the 2023 Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 3A
6 State Championships; and
7 WHEREAS, This is the Lancettes' second consecutive state
8 championship and third IHSA title overall; and
9 WHEREAS, In their past 11 consecutive trips to the IHSA
10 state finals, the Lancettes have consistently placed in the
11 top 10 dance teams in the State and have earned trophies six
12 times, in 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020, 2022, and 2023; and
13 WHEREAS, The Lancettes have competed in the state
14 championships every year since the IHSA began holding
15 competitive dance competitions in 2013; and
16 WHEREAS, There were 77 teams that competed in the IHSA 3A
17 Sectionals on January 21, 2023 at South Elgin High School, and
18 30 teams advanced to the championships; and
19 WHEREAS, This year's IHSA Competitive Dance Team State
20 Championships were held on January 27 and January 28, 2023 in

1 Bloomington at the Grossinger Motors Arena; and
2 WHEREAS, The head coach for the Lancettes is Francesca
3 Leone, and the assistant coaches are Lauren O'Brien and Cassie
4 Spear; and
5 WHEREAS, The Lancettes squad that competed at the state
6 competition included Sophomore Alessia Bavaro, Sophomore Siena
7 Bavaro, Senior Isabella Catalano, Senior Abigail Hatfield,
8 Sophomore Sophie Hatfield, Sophomore Sophia Kazan, Senior
9 Camryn Kellogg, Senior Talia Leuzzi, Sophomore Ashton Lovell,
10 Senior Alexis McNally, Junior Ana T. Panagakis, Junior Emma
11 Raymond, Junior Nikola Sawicki, Freshman Kerri Thoms, and
12 Senior Giuliana Vasilevich; and
13 WHEREAS, The Lancettes ended the competition with a score
14 of 97.87/100; therefore, be it
15 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
16 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate the
17 School District 108 Lake Park High School Competitive Dance
18 Team, the Lancettes, for winning the 2023 Illinois High School
19 Association (IHSA) Class 3A State Championships and applaud
20 their dedication to their sport; and be it further
21 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
