1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Stephanie G. Wood of Bolingbrook, who
4 passed away on September 15, 2024; and
5 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood, the daughter of Fernando and
6 Diane (Munoz) Esparza, was born in Oak Park on August 19, 1984;
7 she received her undergraduate degree from DePaul University
8 and her law degree from the John Marshall Law School, now known
9 as the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law; and
10 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood worked in graduate admissions at
11 her alma mater, DePaul University, for the past six years; and
12 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was active in the martial art of
13 Taekwondo for the majority of her life and had obtained her
14 black belt; and
15 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood enjoyed playing board games,
16 poker, and video games and exploring her creativity, including
17 painting and building unique projects for her home; she adored
18 all dogs but especially loved her two late dogs, Bree and
19 Oscar; she loved being with her family and friends, including
20 entertaining them at countless themed parties and arranging
21 group vacations; and

1 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood will be remembered for her
2 sparkling heart, energy, generosity, and selflessness; and
3 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood was preceded in death by her
4 grandparents, Fernando and Micaela Esparza and Eliseo and
5 Rebecca Munoz; and
6 WHEREAS, Stephanie Wood is survived by her husband of nine
7 years, Danny; her brother, Tristan (Kristy) Esparza; her
8 parents; her in-laws, Randy and Barb Wood; her sister-in-law,
9 Allison (Artie) Taylor; her nieces and nephews; her uncle,
10 Ruben; her aunts, Beatrice and Maria; and many other relatives
11 and friends; therefore, be it
12 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14 Stephanie G. Wood and extend our sincere condolences to her
15 family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
