18 | 18 | | 8 (a) The State of Illinois shall provide funding for the |

21 | 21 | | 11 item appropriation made to the State Board of Education for |
---|
22 | 22 | | 12 that purpose. This money, when appropriated, shall be provided |
---|
23 | 23 | | 13 to the regional superintendent and to the Chicago Board of |
---|
24 | 24 | | 14 Education, who shall establish a budget, including salaries, |
---|
25 | 25 | | 15 for their alternative school programs. Each program shall |
---|
26 | 26 | | 16 receive funding in the amount of $30,000, except that in any |
---|
27 | 27 | | 17 fiscal year in which the funding allocation is at or above |
---|
28 | 28 | | 18 $22,730,000, each program shall receive $100,000 for that |
---|
29 | 29 | | 19 fiscal year, plus an amount based on the ratio of the region's |
---|

81 | 81 | | 14 program shall be not less than the total amount that was |
---|
82 | 82 | | 15 distributed under that subsection for that alternative school |
---|
83 | 83 | | 16 program for the 1997-1998 fiscal year. If an alternative |
---|
84 | 84 | | 17 school program is to receive a total distribution under |
---|
85 | 85 | | 18 subsection (a) for the 1998-1999 fiscal year that is less than |
---|
86 | 86 | | 19 the total distribution that the program received under that |
---|
87 | 87 | | 20 subsection for the 1997-1998 fiscal year, that alternative |
---|
88 | 88 | | 21 school program shall also receive, from a separate |
---|
89 | 89 | | 22 appropriation made for purposes of this subsection (a-5), a |
---|
90 | 90 | | 23 supplementary payment equal to the amount by which its total |
---|

113 | 113 | | 10 Section 18-8.05 or evidence-based funding as calculated in |
---|
114 | 114 | | 11 subsection (g) of Section 18-8.15 upon filing a claim as |
---|
115 | 115 | | 12 provided therein. Any time that a student who is enrolled in an |
---|
116 | 116 | | 13 alternative school program spends in work-based learning, |
---|
117 | 117 | | 14 community service, or a similar alternative educational |
---|
118 | 118 | | 15 setting shall be included in determining the student's minimum |
---|
119 | 119 | | 16 number of clock hours of daily school work that constitute a |
---|
120 | 120 | | 17 day of attendance for purposes of calculating general State |
---|
121 | 121 | | 18 aid or evidence-based funding. |
---|
122 | 122 | | 19 (c) An alternative school program may receive additional |
---|
123 | 123 | | 20 funding from its school districts in such amount as may be |
---|
124 | 124 | | 21 agreed upon by the parties and necessary to support the |
---|
125 | 125 | | 22 program. In addition, an alternative school program is |
---|
126 | 126 | | 23 authorized to accept and expend gifts, legacies, and grants, |
---|
127 | 127 | | 24 including but not limited to federal grants, from any source |
---|
128 | 128 | | 25 for purposes directly related to the conduct and operation of |
---|
