1111 1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
1212 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
1313 3 represented in the General Assembly:
1414 4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
1515 5 changing Section 12-4.13a as follows:
1616 6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.13a)
1717 7 Sec. 12-4.13a. Gross income eligibility standard; SNAP.
1818 8 (a) Subject to federal approval if required, a household
1919 9 that includes an elderly, blind, or disabled person shall be
2020 10 considered categorically eligible for Supplemental Nutrition
2121 11 Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if the gross income of such
2222 12 household is at or below 200% of the nonfarm income poverty
2323 13 guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the
2424 14 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the
2525 15 authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2); and a household that does not
2626 16 include an elderly, blind, or disabled person shall be
2727 17 considered categorically eligible for Supplemental Nutrition
2828 18 Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if the gross income of such
2929 19 household is at or below 165% of those nonfarm income poverty
3030 20 guidelines.
3131 21 (b) Subject to federal approval if required, a household
