11	11	1 AN ACT concerning public aid.
12	12	2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
13	13	3 represented in the General Assembly:
14	14	4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
15	15	5 changing Section 12-4.13a as follows:
16	16	6 (305 ILCS 5/12-4.13a)
17	17	7 Sec. 12-4.13a. Gross income eligibility standard; SNAP.
18	18	8 (a) Subject to federal approval if required, a household
19	19	9 that includes an elderly, blind, or disabled person shall be
20	20	10 considered categorically eligible for Supplemental Nutrition
21	21	11 Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if the gross income of such
22	22	12 household is at or below 200% of the nonfarm income poverty
23	23	13 guidelines updated periodically in the Federal Register by the
24	24	14 U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the
25	25	15 authority of 42 U.S.C. 9902(2); and a household that does not
26	26	16 include an elderly, blind, or disabled person shall be
27	27	17 considered categorically eligible for Supplemental Nutrition
28	28	18 Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits if the gross income of such
29	29	19 household is at or below 165% of those nonfarm income poverty
30	30	20 guidelines.
31	31	21 (b) Subject to federal approval if required, a household
32	32	22 that includes one or more veterans or members of the armed
33	33	23 forces shall be considered categorically eligible for
