311 1 AN ACT concerning State government.
412 2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
513 3 represented in the General Assembly:
614 4 Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic
715 5 Opportunity Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois
816 6 is amended by adding Section 605-1056 as follows:
917 7 (20 ILCS 605/605-1056 new)
1018 8 Sec. 605-1056. Capacity building grants. Subject to
1119 9 appropriation, the Department of Commerce and Economic
1220 10 Opportunity, in consultation with the Department of Revenue,
1321 11 is authorized to create and award capacity building grants to
1422 12 municipalities whose equalized assessed value, total State
1523 13 sales tax disbursements, or both combined, subject to
1624 14 inflation, decreased at least 30% over the 10 years preceding
1725 15 the issuance of the grant. The Department shall adopt rules to
1826 16 implement and administer the requirements of this Section.
19-17 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20-18 becoming law.
